Hello
CDN Update

We hope that you continue to be safe and well.

After the success of last year’s #LoveScotlandsColleges, the fantastic week-long campaign is back and kick starts next Monday. It raises national awareness of just how valuable, and valued, our local colleges are. Find out how you can get involved below.

This month, we launched a collaboratively designed and exciting new online course - Introduction to a Career in Social Care. This course provides a unique learning opportunity for a critical sector. Find out more below.

We continue to offer a wide range of events, courses and online resources to support your professional development. Take a moment to see what's on offer in our events section of the website, and on CDN LearnOnline.

As ever, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you’d like to talk about any aspect of our work, if you'd like to suggest new ways that we can support you, or share experiences and great practice that colleagues in the sector would find useful. You can email me at: [email protected]

Scotland's National College Digital Campaign
To celebrate the outstanding innovation, hard work and best practice that takes place across the sector every day, organised by the CDN Marketing and Communications Network, our collaborative #LoveScotlandsColleges campaign is launching on Monday 29 November 2021.

The campaign aims to highlight the importance and strength of Scotland’s colleges, promoting examples, both national and local, of how colleges support students, the economy, businesses, communities and staff.

We are encouraging all college staff, politicians, businesses and local communities to get involved with the campaign on social media by using #LoveScotlandsColleges

So, get involved and tell the world why YOU #LoveScotlandsColleges!
New online course: Introduction to a Career in Social Care

Earlier this month, we launched the exciting new online course: Introduction to a Career in Social Care. This brand new six-week, part time, online tutor-supported course is now available to be delivered by colleges throughout Scotland.

The course will introduce students to a career in Social Care, where opportunities are many and varied. The course has been designed for those who enjoy working with people, are compassionate, have a sense of fun and are seeking a new rewarding career helping others live their lives to the full. This course is delivered with funding from the National Transition Training Fund from Scottish Government and the Scottish Funding Council.

Interested in delivering this exciting course?

To enable your college to deliver and promote this fully funded course we have created a marketing toolkit and a neatly packaged online course. Please contact Ann Kirkwood, CDN Lead at [email protected] for further information.

Information Session

On Wednesday 24 November, 100 delegates attended an Information Session which brought Social Care providers and colleges together to explore the opportunities the new online course brings to the Social Care Sector in Scotland.
The recording for this event will be available shortly, watch this space.
