DIRECTOR'S THANKSGIVING MESSAGE
I recently read a fine study of gratitude in Christian and Muslim thought. The book and the Thanksgiving Season prompt me to send this message.

I am thankful for CTI’s founders. They were led by James McCord, who saw the need in the mid-20thcentury for a research center in theology that was interdisciplinary in character and global in reach. Thanks to McCord and today’s trustees, CTI flourishes in the 21st Century.

I am thankful for CTI’s scholars. In this newsletter, you will meet a range of leading thinkers from a Nobel Laureate on economics and a Pacific theologian on the environment to Maori and Black critics of racism in architecture. Thanks to them, CTI is an environment for fresh thinking.

And I am thankful for CTI’s supporters. You are intellectually curious, globally concerned, and persuaded of the importance of ideas. Thanks to your donations, CTI’s work thrives today.

This November issue of Insights is therefore sent with my deep gratitude for your stewardship, scholarship, and support, and my good wishes for this Thanksgiving Season.
