The Tool Box 🧰

Milwaukee Tool first showed us their PACKOUT line of tool storage during their New Product Symposium of 2017. Starting with 8 tool boxes and bags, they have grown the line to nearly 90 items, with more on the way. Available now are parts bins, tool boxes, Two-Wheeled Carts, Rolling Tool boxes, wall storage units, lights, coolers, and battery chargers, to name just some of the offerings.

A key feature of PACKOUT is the modular connectivity that allows the locking together of the pieces for secure mounting or transport. The hard PACKOUT cases are waterproof, and can be fit with customizable foam inserts to protect the tools inside. The variety of sizes means that they can carry most of the tools of the carpentry, plumbing, and electrical trades.

My Marine Home Center van is fully outfitted with PACKOUT (pictured above), carrying my drills, saws, a vacuum, lights, miscellaneous fasteners, batteries, and much more. All are held in place with mounting plates that lock down the boxes for travel.

The Two-Wheeled Cart or the Rolling Toolbox and other wheeled pieces make it easy to move a lot of equipment to and around the job site, saving a lot of trips to the van.

BULB PLANTING TIPS

-- Plant Spring bulbs such as daffodils, tulips, hyacinth, lilies, gladiolas, and crocus in Fall just before the ground freezes and while the soil is still workable.

-- Amend soil with compost material and high phosphorus fertilizer such as bone meal.

-- Bulbs thrive in well-draining soil. Adding rich organic compost material (such as Coast of Maine Lobster Compost) can improve soil drainage. 

-- Planting depth varies by species, follow instructions on package.
