For many years, Marine had their own "Blue Ticket Drawing" promotion that ran from November 1st through Christmas Eve. Each cash transaction or house-charge customer received a blue ticket every time they checked out. The blue tickets went to the individual standing at the counter. It did not matter if the purchase was for one $1.00 or for $10,000, they received one blue ticket, per visit, and a chance to win the Blue Ticket Drawing. The Grand prize was $5,000, the second prize was usually a fine piece of furniture, and the third prize was a Weber grill. | | |

The real fun began on the day of the drawing which was held at the back steps of the Housewares Department that opened into the parking area behind the Garden Center. As drawing time moved closer, the ticket holders started to arrive imperceptibly at first, until all of sudden, like a flash mob, the yard was filled with people. The Nantucket Junior Miss was called upon to draw the blue tickets and the winners were announced. | |

After the last winner was declared, the crowd disappeared in minutes to go down to the Chamber's Red Ticket Drawing, in hopes if they were unlucky with the Blue tickets, they would win down on Main Street. One year, it rained so hard that the drawing was made from the back of a box truck under the lumber trees to get out of the weather.
The last Blue Ticket drawing was held in 2008.
