November 2023

Presidents note

We literally have a warm welcome to all of our returning dual member ”snowbirds.” The cooler temperatures and perfect golf weather days didn’t last long. Hopefully, we will get some cooler weather, as we approach the holiday season.

As we kick off our winter season, we have both a golf kick-off event and our annual kick-off social event. Our think PINK event is the perfect opportunity to invite your golfing friends to find out about all the things the SWFL LPGA Amateurs have to offer!

I hope to see many of our members re-engaging with the chapter events.

Summer Leagues 2023 - COMPLETE!

While the SWFL Hurricane Season is still underway, at least we made it through our summer season of golf without a major hurricane! But, don't let your guard down as we still have another month to go before we exit the 2023 Hurricane Season!

But, back to Summer 2023 Golf…It was HOT!! Most people agree that this was the hottest summer they remember; a big shout out to those who joined us on these hot summer Tuesday and Thursday league play days!

In summary we played:

  • 50 rounds of golf on Tuesday and Thursday of each week running from May 4th to October 24th
  • 20 different private and semi-private courses in Fort Myers, Estero, Bonita Springs and Naples

We were able to negotiate better than Golf Pass rates at 7 courses listed in the SF Golf Pass and we played 4 private courses that did not offer Golf Pass specials.

Additionally, while many of the Golf Pass courses offer 2-3 day advance bookings, we were able to acquire tee times well in advance for our players. The registration fees covered golf, taxes (6.5% in Lee County and 7% in Collier County), sometimes cart staff gratuity and sometimes lunch was included the fees, and also included the EZ Facility registration software fees.  Additionally, the fee covered the cost of 2 Closest to the Pin awards ($20 PGA Super Store cards) for Thursday league play.

Because the summer season consists of roaming from one beautiful course to another, it takes a great deal of time and effort to coordinate summer league play.

Please give a big shout out to the League Coordinators who organized and ran the league play this year:

Judy Freiberg - Tuesday League

Suzi Ward & Mary Kaye Rueth - Thursday League

Debbie Sheperd - Arranged many of the courses throughout the summer months

While we hope to see you all in the upcoming Winter Season, we look forward to seeing you again next summer!

Winter Leagues 2023-2024

Let the winter season begin!! We're still working through the final details but we do have some initial dates lined up and these will be updated to the master calendar in the very near future.

We will be playing Saturday @ Stoneybrook in their 1pm cross-over tee times. We will play once in November (due to other events and holidays) on 11/18 @ the November rate of $60 payable at the course. We will then play 12/2, 12/9 & 12/16 at the December rate of $65. We'll pick back up in Jan and play every Saturday (excluding monthly event weekends) through April at the winter rate of $95. Please extend your gratitude to Mary Kaye Rueth for running this league!

We will begin play at Quail Run on Wednesday afternoons starting in December. Tee times will begin sometime around noon and we're still finalizing the rate with Quail Run. A big thank you to Susan Aborn for lining us up at the course once again and all her years running this league. Susan is handing over the reins to Peggy Meyerowitz who has agreed to run it for us this season - thanks so much Peggy!!

We will be playing the very popular Nine and Dine on Tuesday's at Hibiscus starting in December. This course has undergone a full renovation and should be a delight to play. Please be sure to thank your league coordinator Mary Erickson for lining this up for us again this year and running the weekly play. Tee times will begin at 2:30 and once rates are finalized we'll publish the events on the master calendar.

We're still talking to Quail Village about twice a month Saturday play. Tentative dates: December 16th, January 6th & 20th, February 3rd &17th, March 2nd, 16th & 30th, April 6th & 20th.

More to come on all of these leagues and as soon as the rates are finalized details will be added to EZ Facility and the LPGA Amateurs SWFL Calendar

Save the Date - Holiday Sip & Shop @

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining"!
