to merge with Memorial Hermann
The City of Lakeway's largest employer is about to get even bigger as Baylor Scott & White Holdings Board of Trustees and the Memorial Hermann Health System Board of Directors have signed a letter of intent to merge. A definitive agreement is expected in 2019.
The two like-minded, forward-thinking, mission-driven organizations can further strengthen communities, advance the health of Texans and transform the delivery of healthcare together.
Survey ends Oct. 9
Less than one week remains for you to take the City of Lakeway online citizen survey that includes questions on communications, city services, and development.
Your voice is important in helping the Lakeway City Council and other city boards, commissions, and committees to make decisions that directly impact you.
Survey results will be announced at the Lakeway City Council meeting on Oct. 15 and published on the city’s website at www.lakeway-tx.gov.
Sports complex open house Oct. 25
You are invited to a public meeting to see the design ideas for the Travis County Bee Creek Sports Complex that include eight multi-use football, soccer, and baseball fields.
Travis County staff and engineers will be on hand from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Lakeway Activity Center, 105 Cross Creek, to answer questions about the new 70-acre sports complex being developed on Bee Creek Road.
The City of Lakeway purchased the land for $3.765 million in 2014, and Travis County is paying $24.75 million in improvements.
The Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG) is upgrading the regional notification system that powers WarnCentralTexas.org to bring residents emergency and public safety warnings they need to protect their families, properties and selves.
As part of the upgrade, CAPCOG recommends that previously self-registered participants update their notification information by using the link inside an email sent through the new Everbridge system.
Those who have not registered for the emergency alerts may sign up at www.warncentraltexas.org.
This free public service is provided by CAPCOG and the region’s cities and counties for individuals living, working or visiting Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays, Lee, Llano, Travis, and Williamson counties.
Lakeway Police Foundation will present the Back the Blue Gala from 5:30-10:30 p.m. at the Oasis.
Please join the foundation for a night of dancing and entertainment provided by Pearl Snaps as well as live and silent auctions.
The evening, which is sponsored by Lexus of Lakeway, will feature the presentation of the Officer of the Year award.
It is the foundation's mission to give back to the individual men and women of the Lakeway Police Department, including employees, officers, and immediate family members.
Funds are raised to provide assistance in the case of emergency or misfortune. The nonprofit organization also accepts donations all year long.
