A Reflection from Rev. Becky+

Hello Good Shepherd!

I wanted to thank all of you for an absolutely fabulous first Sunday. When we sang, “All things bright and beautiful” it just felt so right – between the people and the creatures and God with us in the church, it did feel bright and beautiful, and very much in the spirit of St. Francis. I believe we will do good work and have a lot of fun together.

I’m going to be away this weekend, but I would love to start scheduling to meet with you one-on-one or in groups (I stopped by the Outreach Commission last night, and that was great!) so please email me at rzartman@goodshepherdrmt.org or call the office and leave a message with Sheryl, and we’ll get together soon. I’m up for lunch, coffee, phone calls, house visits and other sundry adventures. : )

Please continue to pray for the people and leadership of Good Shepherd as we move into this new way of being with each other over the next few weeks. I’ll be praying for you!

Morning Prayer

Morning Prayer will resume on October 16 at noon in the library. Please plan to join us for a time of quiet devotion.

Could you help?

Here are some ways you can help our neighbors in need.

If you would like to help those who were impacted by last week's hurricane in western North Carolina, please bring a check made out to Good Shepherd with a note "for Asheville Disaster Relief" on Sunday. We will send the money directly to the Rev. Scott White's discretionary fund at Trinity Episcopal Church, Asheville. You may also donate directly by using the button on our website, or clicking here

Thanksgiving Boxes

Would you be willing to help make Thanksgiving a wonderful day for some of our neighbors in need? The Outreach Committee is seeking donations to build boxes. Each box will cost $50 to fill. Please make out a check to Church of the Good Shepherd with a note of Thanksgiving Box, or use an envelope in the pew to put cash in and note Thanksgiving Box, or donate using the button on our website. Every donation, regardless of the amount will help us get to our goal. "

St. Francis Day Blessing of the Animals

Congratulations to Kathy Tobias and John Tobias, who were received into the Episcopal Church by Bishop Rodman on Sept. 29. Special thanks to Albert Ervin, Mary Palmer and Bob Hyatt who led Kathy and John through the journey to confirmation.
