| Protect Our Shoreline. You May Need a Permit! | |
A reminder that development within 15 metres inland of the natural boundary of the shoreline requires a Development Permit including:
- The construction or siting of any structure;
- Any erosion control features;
- Removal of native vegetation;
- The displacement or alteration of any natural features;
- Grading; and
- Shoreline protection devices
This Development Permit Area exists because any development has the potential to accelerate shoreline erosion, reduce stability, and degrade the aesthetic of the beach area. The marine riparian area is an ecologically important area that is sensitive to development.
