October on Our Mind!
October is here, bringing pumpkins, fall traditions, and the hope that cooler weather might eventually find its way to San Antonio! Around here, we know “fall” can still mean trick-or-treating in tank tops, but that certainly doesn’t stop us from enjoying everything
this season has to offer.
As we head into another busy and special time of year, we want to thank all of our clients, friends, and community partners for being part of our fall and, more importantly, part of the Bertsch & Boze family. We’re so grateful for the relationships we’ve built and the trust you continue to place in our team. Here’s to a wonderful October, a little extra time with the people we love, and hopefully a cool front or two!

October: A Time for Family and the Future
October brings a change of season, fuller calendars, family traditions, and the beginning of a special time of year. From fall gatherings to Halloween with the grandkids, it’s a month that reminds us how meaningful time with the people we love can be.
It’s also a good time to take care of the things we’ve been putting off. With Thanksgiving and the holidays just around the corner, reviewing your estate plan, updating important documents, or finally beginning the planning process now can mean one less thing on your mind during
the busy months ahead.
At Bertsch & Boze, we believe these important decisions deserve time, conversation, and a plan built around your individual family. If estate planning has been sitting on your to-do list, give our office a call this October. We’d be honored to help you get things in order so you can spend the holidays focusing on what matters most.
We're always just a phone call away.

| | | Community Spotlight: Hello October! | | |
Connecting with our community continues to be one of the most meaningful parts of our work. Throughout the year, we’re fortunate to spend time with local organizations, share information with families, and take part in events across San Antonio. These moments remind us how lucky we are to
serve the people who make this city feel like home.
September was another wonderful month of educating and serving throughout our community. Our team got to spend time with attorney Shekinah Hammonds Davis and her team, where she invited us for lunch and a chance to visit and collaborate. We talk a lot about how much our community matters to our firm, and this is part of what we mean. We also got to spend time together celebrating Carol’s 30th anniversary and Autumn’s 3rd anniversary with the firm- it was such a great reminder of how lucky
we are to have this team.
As October brings fall traditions and the holiday season a little closer, we’re especially thankful for the clients and families who make our work so meaningful. It’s a privilege to be trusted with the things that matter most, and we’re grateful to be part of your lives and this wonderful community.

Giving Thanks by Giving Back:
Nominate Someone for Pro Bono Legal Services
This November, Bertsch & Boze Elder Law is celebrating the season of gratitude by giving back to our community. We will select an individual or family experiencing financial hardship to receive up to $2,500 in pro bono elder law or estate planning services from our firm.
We invite our clients, friends, and newsletter readers to nominate someone who could benefit from our help but would not otherwise be able to afford legal services. As a reminder, “pro bono” means legal services provided without charge to someone who lacks the financial resources to hire an attorney. This program is intended for people experiencing real financial need- not simply someone who would appreciate receiving free legal services. We ask that you please keep that purpose in mind when considering a nomination.
To submit a nomination, simply email us (staff@assistingseniors.com) with the nominee’s name, contact information, and a brief explanation of their circumstances and how our services could help.
We will review the nominations and select the recipient in November as part of our “Giving Thanks” initiative. Whether someone needs help putting an estate plan in place, navigating a long-term care issue, or addressing another matter within our firm’s areas of practice, we hope this small effort can make a meaningful difference for members of our community who need it most.
Contact us at 210-892-4555 to schedule an appointment.

TIP: Did You Know?
AI can be a helpful place to start, but it shouldn’t be where your estate plan ends. Online tools can provide general information, but they don’t know your family, finances, or unique circumstances. When it comes to decisions this important, personalized guidance from an experienced elder law attorney can make all the difference.
