We continue to work hard to drive new research and enquiry in the sector through CDN's Research and Enhancement Centre – ensuring it is relevant, applicable and useful. The recently launched 'Scottish Colleges’ Statement of Commitment on the Climate Emergency'. The statement highlights how college staff and students are working together to achieve a more sustainable future for Scotland. Colleges have come together to establish and commit to delivering 10 key actions, with the aim of speeding up efforts to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions. Find out more here.
Over 120 delegates virtually attended the first ever sector #CollegeClimateChange Conference, which took place online on Wednesday 6 October. This major conference provided a strategic overview of the climate change actions that the college sector should be engaged in and considered what more the sector could be doing to contribute to national Net Zero targets.
