Alaska – An NCART and PAMES provider workgroup has been meeting with the Alaska Commissioner’s office to discuss reimbursement increases and needed CRT repair reform; additional meetings are scheduled in October to identify opportunities for 2023-2024.
California –Right to Repair legislation that included prior authorization reform was vetoed by the Governor; additional legislative discussions continue regarding budget requests for the State’s next fiscal year; NCART members are hosting multiple legislative site visits to support these requests.
Connecticut – NCART, (not part of the meetings), and other stakeholders are continuing deliberations with CT legislators and consumer advocacy organizations to identify needed service and repair reform outside; these discussions are ongoing and a legislatively-appointed workgroup including NCART and others will report further recommendations to the state in early 2024.
Massachusetts – NCART, HOMES, and others continue working with legislators and consumer advocacy organizations to advance legislation that addresses CRT repair reform needs in the State; NCART has testified at multiple hearings and has coordinated meetings with key legislators in August and September; October committee hearings were held and NCART provided written and verbal testimony.
Michigan – CRT state recognition legislation has been introduced and passed unanimously in the Senate (S449 and S450); the bills have been sent over to the House and will be referred to the House Health Policy Committee; NCART is communicating with the Michigan Healthcare and Hospice Association and lobbyist on needed next steps; committee hearings will be scheduled; NCART will provide written and verbal testimony in support of the legislation.
Utah – NCART presented FY 2025 budget requests to the Medical Care Advisory Committee in June; ongoing efforts will require legislative action in 2023/2024; NCART has communicated with key legislative committees about these budget requests as well as actions urgently needed to improve claim processing delays; additional legislative meetings have been requested and discussions are ongoing.
