OSDT Delivers on Training for Critical Positions to Ensure Public Safety
By George McCue, Writer
DPS is a department with great needs to recruit and retain a prepared, able workforce. The lion’s share of “certified positions” are within the Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice: That includes correctional officers (COs), probation and parole officers (PPOs), juvenile justice officers and juvenile court counselors. Before new hires for those positions can get in the field, they must receive proper training set by the N.C. Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission. And as they continue their careers, these professionals require
in-service training to maintain their certification.
