COLD WEATHER SHELTER AT THE COMMUNITY CHURCH
We have cold and snowy weather predicted starting Sunday 1/12, through the following Sunday, 1/19, so we are planning to be open for those eight nights. But we can only open if we have enough people volunteer! We need two volunteers for each OPENING SHIFT, 7 pm - 9 pm. And we need two volunteers (one man and one woman) for the OVERNIGHT SHIFT, 9 pm - 8 am.This is a paid shift! BECOME A CENSUS WORKER

The U.S. Census Bureau is kicking off peak hiring efforts for the 2020 Census. A representative from the Census Bureau will be available at the Orcas Island  library on Thursday, January 16. Get information on how to become a Census worker, as well as help in the application process. OICMF PRESENTS FREE CONDUCTING WORKSHOPS WITH ADAM STERN
(Sundays: January 19-February 11, 7 pm @ Orcas Island Public Library)
Over the course of four Sunday evening interactive video sessions, well-known Seattle-area conductor Adam Stern will teach the rudiments of conducting and share his own experiences as a conductor, imparting information from the purely technical to the highly personal and anecdotal.
