Scott Welch, Vineyard Manager for Jackson Family Wines, grew up on a Chardonnay vineyard in Potter Valley and learned early on that knowledge is a powerful tool, especially when it comes to soil types and growing grapes. He went on to study viticulture, learned to speak Spanish, and now manages 550 acres of grapevines in and around the Petaluma Gap.
