December 2020 Edition
Happy Holidays from PRISMA!
On December 13, PRISMA hosted an online meetup with the intent to connect people through a shared love of music and chase away some of the pandemic blues. Along with co-hosts Misty Oakes and Andy Rice, maestro Arthur Arnold was on hand to serenade attendees with Christmas carols on his cello and trade a few stories. If you missed it, or if you simply want to re-live these moments again, here's the abbreviated version – a few highlights from A Holiday Cellobration.
And now, some more good news! The maestro will be going live one more time, for those who are longing for a little more music (and company) this Christmas. Join him on Facebook at 9pm PST this evening for an encore performance of traditional carols on cello – from his home in the Netherlands. Follow this link to connect to the livestream. From our PRISMA family to yours, we wish you all the health and happiness for this holiday season and the new year ahead.

Mark your calendar for a special strings-only edition of PRISMA, planned for June 14 to 26 in Powell River. This smaller orchestra will be comprised of violinists, violists, cellists and bassists from within British Columbia, performing repertoire that simply hasn't been possible in past iterations of PRISMA. Chamber concerts, as well as those from student quartets and quintets, will round out our musical offerings, and the Victoria-based and internationally-renowned Lafayette String Quartet will serve as our Artists in Residence. Additional guest artists and featured performers will be announced soon!
