Earlier this year we announced plans for a smaller, strings-only edition of PRISMA featuring 30 musicians and guest artists from British Columbia only. At that time, we were optimistic that such a model could proceed June 14-26 under the right conditions.
Today, we are making the proactive decision to move our academy online for 2021. PRISMA is so proud to call the qathet region home and we look forward to sharing this inspiring, supportive community with students as soon as possible. Until then, our focus will be on education opportunities that rely on technology rather than travel.
On the festival front, stay tuned for an official announcement regarding Season 2 of our broadcast series, PRISMA on the Couch, featuring performances by the Lafayette String Quartet (our 2021 artists-in-residence), footage from our virtual classroom, and another deep dive into the archives curated by maestro Arthur Arnold.
Thank you for believing in PRISMA. Together, we will lift spirits and change lives through beautiful music.

School visits continue through #PRISMA4Kids

PRISMA's annual outreach activities for Powell River students have continued in spite of the pandemic, making used of outdoor classrooms, fields and covered atriums at schools across the qathet region.
Thanks to Kelly Creek Community School, Westview Elementary, Texada Elementary, James Thomson Elementary, Assumption Catholic School (and soon, Edgehill Elementary, too!) for having us. It's been a joy sharing the gift of music through our #PRISMA4Kids program.

Maestro entertains queue at vaccination clinic
|
|
|
If you've visited Powell River Recreation Complex for a vaccination recently, you may have recognized one of the volunteers as our very own Arthur Arnold. For the past month he's been playing for people in the waiting room at the clinic, calming nerves and collecting smiles.

Tanja Wittberger
Membership Manager

Born and raised in Austria, music has always been a big part of Tanja’s life. Becoming a part of PRISMA and connecting with people through sharing the same passion for music is a unique opportunity. After starting out in the education sector, her love for travelling finally brought Tanja to Canada where she worked as an adventure tour guide in the Rocky Mountains and on Vancouver Island. Finding a home here in Powell River gives her the chance to use her experience in customer service and work alongside amazing people in order to create an unforgettable experience for PRISMA's members and students alike.
