Brampton GO Station to be renamed Brampton Innovation District GO
The City of Brampton has entered a 10-year marketing agreement with Metrolinx that includes renaming the Brampton GO Station as “Brampton Innovation District GO".
Dealroom fosters innovation and connection
The City of Brampton recently launched its own Dealroom platform to connect start-ups, investors, and stakeholders and to facilitate investment and growth opportunities.

The platform provides a one-stop-shop for information on the City’s start-up investment opportunities, incentives, and business support services. 
Coming to Brampton July 13: Brampton Venture Expo
The third annual Brampton Venture Expo is the first tech event bringing together start-up founders, executives, investors and creatives across Brampton’s biggest industries to reimagine the future of innovation and start-ups in shaping our city. 

This event is powered by Brampton Venture Zone by TMU and the Brampton Innovation District.
Lululemon’s largest Distribution Centre in North America coming to Brampton
Lululemon is establishing its largest North American office and distribution centre in Brampton. Its new 1 million sq ft facility, developed by Prologis, will be located on Countryside Drive and will generate 1,500 jobs. 
Cardinal Meats Expansion
Cardinal Meats is celebrating their recent expansion in Brampton. Canada’s largest burger producer, with a workforce of 320, Cardinal is adding 120 jobs and 33,000 sq ft of space. 

Cardinal Meats serves retail brands such as Tim Hortons, Harvey’s, and Sobey’s, and we're proud to have them call Brampton home. This expansion is a testament to Brampton's thriving business community and our commitment to supporting local businesses.
MedTech Task Force Launch
The City of Brampton, in partnership with Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) School of Medicine, recently hosted the inaugural meeting of its new MedTech Task Force.

The goal of the Task Force is to promote medical innovation within the municipality, attract investment to support science, research and commercialization, and support the development of highly skilled jobs and training opportunities for the medical industry.

Economic Development Receives Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award  
Congratulations to The City of Brampton's Economic Development Office for being recognized by Business Facilities Magazine for its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives. Brampton is also the only Canadian city that was selected for the IEDC Equity Fellowship in 2022, which is a major milestone!
Brampton Companies Receives Real Estate Excellence (REX) Award 
Congratulations to Panattoni Development and Magna International for winning the prestigious “Lease of the Year” and "Industrial Lease of the Year" award for their 500K sq ft facility at 100 Ace Drive in Brampton. The new $265-million plant will create over 500 jobs to support the Ford F-150 Lightning and other electric vehicle production.
Investment Attraction: Ireland and Northern Ireland 
The City of Brampton recently completed its first successful in-person investment mission to Ireland and Northern Ireland. Led by Regional Councillors Michael Palleschi and Dennis Keenan, the delegation included Innovation District partners and City staff, and met with prospective investors and business partners to discuss Brampton’s strength as a national centre of excellence for cybersecurity.
Brampton Joins Global Institute of Innovation Districts 
The Brampton Innovation District has joined a worldwide network of innovation districts to share research and best practices, and promote economic development, social inclusion, and investment. As a member of the Global Institute of Innovation Districts (GIID), Brampton is part of a select cohort that tackles issues such as unique R&D strengths, industry attraction, pandemic and climate change responses. 
Building Brampton’s Next Generation of Entrepreneurs this Summer 
This year’s Summer Company cohort features 12 students who all share a common passion for business and community. The Brampton Entrepreneur Centre looks forward to guiding their ventures into entrepreneurship and showcasing what these bright youth have to offer.
