MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

October 28, 2024

One of the more rewarding aspects of our work here at the Delaware State Chamber is connecting members to one another for the betterment of all. A good example of this is our work with the Philadelphia Federal Reserve Bank and the Small Business Credit Survey they publish annually. Your participation is vitally important since the results help inform the Fed, federal government agencies, service providers, policymakers, and others as decisions are made that impact small businesses.

In this survey, you will share whether and how you use debt, what financial conditions you face, and more. The survey is open to businesses currently in operation, those recently closed, and those about to launch. All responses are confidential.

Please dedicate the 12 minutes it takes to fill this out and forward it on to others who could do similarly. It’s important data and the results are well worth it. The survey closes this Friday. Complete survey >

And speaking of small business, did you get your ticket to our Superstars in Business awards luncheon? This one sells out every year! Join us on Wednesday, November 6 >

News You Can Use

This is a light week for economic data, but a stacked week for earnings calls. The October consumer confidence numbers are released Tuesday, as are September job openings results. Wednesday brings us ADP employment data for October, Q3 GDP, and pending home sales for September. On Friday we’ll get October U.S. unemployment figures and September construction spending.

This is a very busy week for earnings calls from companies around the country. We start off today with Camping World, Ford Motor, Potlatch/Deltic, Trex, Waste Management, and many more. Another big group is scheduled for Tuesday and they include Armstrong World Industries, Comcast, Corning, D.R. Horton, Ecolab, Incyte, Leidos, McDonald’s, Pfizer, Advanced Micro Devices, Chubb, DaVita, FMC Corporation, and Visa. Wednesday includes AbbVie, Biogen, Exelon, Global Payments, Hess, Wingstop, and others. Meta, Arch Capital, Microsoft, Starbucks, Graniger, Amazon, Hyatt Hotels, Uber Technologies, PBF Energy, Merck, and more round out the week.
