The Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) Network released two new reports. Findings indicate:

  • New patterns in prevalence by race/ethnicity
  • Dramatic impacts of COVID-19 on early evaluation and identification.

The latest autism prevalence estimate is 1 in 36 8-year-old children. For the first time, the percentage of 8-year-old Asian or Pacific Islander, Hispanic and Black children identified with autism was higher than among White Children.
