Dear {First Name},
You know that 2024 is a critical year, and WILPF US asks for your financial support. Already you should have received our letter, with a convenient reply envelope. This email is a reminder of all the excellent reasons WILPF deserves your support this year.
2024 is a critical year!
WILPF Needs Your Support — Now More Than Ever!

As the above quote demonstrates, Addams’ requirement for peace is justice, that is to end systemic violence of all kinds, which is the positive peace work of WILPF. With WILPF’s upcoming 110th anniversary in April 2025, please pay tribute to this remarkable milestone with us!
- Consider a one-time contribution of $110
- or become a monthly donor at $10.
Recurring monthly donations are secure, and there are good reasons other nonprofits (like PBS and UNICEF) are increasingly relying on monthly giving for consistent sustainability. Your monthly automatic gift empowers WILPF's ongoing positive peace efforts. Join us in sustaining this vital work.
2024 promises to be the most consequential year of our lifetimes – filled with so many challenges. WILPF IS already MEETING THOSE challenges head on!
- Since late 2023, our Middle East Justice and Action Committee has persistently advocated for a ceasefire, joined by WILPFers nationwide in protests. Madison, Burlington, Boston, Ann Arbor, Palo Alto, DC-MD-VA and Sacramento branches have also taken part in Gaza actions.
- On January 22nd, marking the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons' third anniversary, our Disarm/No Wars Committee mobilized actions across the US.
- WILPFers are increasingly turning our focus to the plight of refugees and immigrants. In early 2024, WILPFERs Gloria McMillan and Jan Corderman cemented WILPF’s immigration support, consulting with the Balkan Peace Support Group at the Lutheran Refugee Center in Tucson, AZ.
- Chicago is a sanctuary city and is the site for a WILPF US branch relaunch effort, which is focused on the support for immigrants' rights, along with the Boston and Philadelphia branches.
- From March 11-22, WILPF US participated in the UN Commission on the Status of Women, offering training and intergenerational collaboration through our UN Practicum in Advocacy and Local to Global Program. Our coordinators, Shilpa Pandey (UN Practicum in Advocacy) and Jan Corderman (Local to Global) provided extraordinary leadership to this transformational initiative. We thank the Greater Milwaukee Foundation (Joan and Annette Robertson) and the GriffinHarte Foundation for their support.

On March 19th, we celebrated the release of Life of Libby: Chasing Peace & Justice with Humor, Guts, and Passion, honoring the legacy of WILPF’s Libby Frank who passed away peacefully in December 2023 at 95. Co-authored by WILPFer Heather Shafter, the book delves into American history through Libby's lens, chronicling, desegregation, Red Scare job loss, and the Rosenberg execution. It's a testament to personal journey, advocating peace and justice at every turn. You can get your own free copy of Life of Libby by being among the first 10 donors of $110 or more, or pledging a monthly gift of $10/month.
