Chemung County's First Approved
Foreign Trade Zone
Join us in Celebrating Southern Tier Logistics as they have officially been approved foreign trade zone status!

This is an important development for Southern Tier Logistics as well as Chemung County.

Southern Tier Logistics in the process of developing a 200-acre business park in the Village of Horseheads. This project contains a seven-year investment plan totaling $125 million and received assistance from the Chemung County Industrial Development Agency and a $2,000,000 grant from Empire State Development.

About Us:
Southern Tier Economic Growth (STEG) a private, not-for-profit organization that fosters prosperity and vitality in Chemung County through the planning, promotion and implementation of economic development programs. Its board of directors has over 65 members, over 75 percent are private business people working side-by-side with chief elected officials and education and community leaders to help create and retain jobs, sustaining a strong economy. It works with the Chemung County Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA), a Public Benefit Corporation of the State of New York that was formed in 1975. The Chemung County IDA consists of a seven-member Board of Directors and provides a variety of tax incentives, financing, and/or related benefits to a broad range of eligible projects that provide a positive economic impact within Chemung County.
