STEG Business Spotlights

LECOM's Impact on the Chemung County Community

Dr. Richard Terry, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine reported on the school’s local economic impact at its Business After Business held on September 28th. Each student spends an average of $30,000 annually which results in a $15 million dollar impact to our local economy each year. Special events involving families and visitors result in additional investment. We are so fortunate to have LECOM and its students in our community!

STEG Quarterly Board Meeting

On September 19th, STEG held its quarterly board meeting at Hilliard. We appreciate our partnership with The Hilliard Corporation for allowing our team to host larger meetings at their location.

The third-quarter board meeting covered a tremendous amount of information. We would like to especially thank two of our guests from MRB Group, Tracy Verrier and Michael N'Dolo, for presenting the results of the Chemung County Strategic Economic Development plan. STEG staff spent an immense amount of time coming together to work on this, with the help of many stakeholder organizations' support. As a result of this plan, our staff is primed to begin the implementation phase.

Lastly, we would like to thank everyone who attended our meeting, both via Zoom and in person. We look forward to seeing everyone in person at our Annual Meeting in December!
