Every year around 28 high school seniors from across the Southern Tier enroll in the New Visions Honor Academy to get hands-on experience at a local company. New Visions courses are designed to give motivated, high-achievers greater freedom and responsibilities than a traditional classroom setting.
Students in the Innovation, Leadership and Business program are available for single day and weekly rotations (full time internships, job shadowing, field experiences, etc.)
“New Visions students have a head start in terms of experience and emotional intelligence” says instructor Paul Richmond. “Introducing them to a variety of companies and fields locally is a great way to help keep them in our community.”
Several companies have participated in the program including Welliver, Kennedy Valve and the Corning Credit Union. Whether it’s construction, health or manufacturing production, you too can help show the next generation how great it can be to live and work right here in Chemung County.
