IN THE NEWS

๐Ÿšง Fall 2025 Pavement Improvement Project Begins October 31!

Santa Paula is hitting the roadโ€”literally! ๐Ÿšœ

Starting Friday, October 31, the Fall 2025 Pavement Improvement Project will begin resurfacing and upgrading key streets across the city, including Main Street, McKevett Road, Teague Drive, Teracina Drive, Loma Vista Drive, Vuelta Place, and Mill Street.

โœ… Smoother, safer travel for everyone

โœ… New ADA-compliant curb ramps along Main Street

โœ… Coordinated upgrades with the ongoing Caltrans SR-126 Improvement Project

Work will continue through November 26, with construction happening in phases. Please watch for temporary lane closures and posted signage, and plan ahead when driving near active work zones.

โ€œThe Fall 2025 Pavement Improvement Project is finally moving forward after nearly a year of delays,โ€ said Mayor Pedro Chavez. โ€œWeโ€™re excited to deliver these much-needed upgrades before the Holiday Season.โ€

In addition to this City-led project, Caltrans crews are also performing roadway improvements along 10th Street/Highway 150 and at Hallock Drive and Highway 126, continuing broader regional efforts to improve traffic flow and enhance safety throughout Santa Paula.

Learn more about this and other active projects on our Public Works webpage or visit ๐ŸŒ www.spcity.org.

๐Ÿ† Santa Paula Honored with Statewide Recognition!

The League of California Cities has named Santa Paula one of the 11 winners of the 2025 Helen Putnam Award for Excellence โ€” marking the first time in our cityโ€™s history to receive this prestigious recognition! ๐ŸŽ‰

Our programs โ€” from the Civic Future Leaders Academy to our bilingual newsletter and inclusive community workshops โ€” are helping build trust, ethics, and stronger community connections. ๐Ÿ’ฌโœจ

This honor highlights Santa Paulaโ€™s ongoing commitment to public service rooted in integrity, collaboration, and community engagement.

๐ŸŽ‰ Big News for Our Community! ๐ŸŽ‰

At the recent International City/County Management Association (ICMA) Annual Conference, the City of Santa Paula was honored with a special award from Zencity โ€” the โ€œRising Star Awardโ€ โ€” for our innovative approach to public outreach and bilingual communications!

Hereโ€™s a closer look at what this means and how weโ€™re making it happen:

๏ปฟ

๐Ÿ”น Our community is diverse and dynamic, and to serve you better, weโ€™ve been actively leveraging Zencityโ€™s platform to gather feedback, analyze sentiments, and deliver meaningful messages in both English and Spanish. Zencity helps public-agencies connect with residents through tools that are inclusive and responsive.

๐Ÿ”น By embracing bilingual communication, weโ€™re making sure every resident has a voice โ€” whether through surveys, online discussion, or direct engagement โ€” and that voice leads to action.

๐Ÿ”น The award underscores our commitment to transparency, accessibility and building trust: itโ€™s not just about broadcasting messages, but about listening, adapting and strengthening our relationship with you.

๐Ÿ”น This achievement reflects collaboration across our City teams โ€” communications, public-works, community services and more โ€” all working together to raise the bar for outreach and civic engagement.

๐ŸŒŸ Thank you to the residents of Santa Paula who participate, share feedback and engage with their city government. This award belongs to all of us. Letโ€™s keep moving forward together โ€” responsive, inclusive, and community-driven.

๐Ÿš“ A New Chapter for the Santa Paula Police Department

The Santa Paula Police Department has a fresh new look โ€” and itโ€™s more than just a renovation. ๐Ÿ’™

This transformation was about creating a space that truly serves our community โ€” a place thatโ€™s modern, welcoming, and designed with both residents and officers in mind.

From a redesigned lobby that offers more comfort and privacy, to updated technology and workspaces that help our officers respond faster and more efficiently, every detail was planned to support better service and connection.

We also made sure to honor our roots. Inside, youโ€™ll find displays and photos celebrating Santa Paulaโ€™s history and the generations of officers whoโ€™ve proudly served our city.

This building isnโ€™t just a workplace โ€” itโ€™s a reflection of our ongoing commitment to serve with integrity, compassion, and pride.

Thank you, Santa Paula, for growing with us and continuing to support your Police Department. Together, weโ€™re building a safer, stronger community. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ

๐Ÿ‘‰ Stop by soon to see the improvements for yourself!
