Springhurst Students Celebrate Soup Day 2026

The annual Springhurst Elementary tradition, Soup Day, is back for 2026! Students enjoyed the delicious and healthy harvest soup, made with vegetables from the Springhurst garden. This garden-to-table tradition is a staple of the Springhurst Elementary experience, and one that students look forward to every year. Soup Day teaches students about the value of gardening and being good stewards of our environment.

Thespians Start New Haunted House Tradition

Dobbs Ferry Thespian Honor Society students began a new Halloween tradition with the Embassy Center Haunted House. Students organized, set up and ran the haunted house, working both behind the scenes and as actors in the haunted house. Lines of supportive community members stretched down the block!

Science Research Students Go on In-School Field Trip

Science Research students participated in an in-school field trip to the library as part of the STS Science Fair, a paper based competition. The application process is in depth and students worked with one another and their teachers throughout the day.

The Dobbs Ferry High School Science Research program is a multi-year long program that sees students developing self-driven projects in areas of personal interest. Whether students choose bio-tech, astronomy, engineering or any other field for their topics, they connect and work with mentors who are experts in their fields and present to both peers and professionals. The science research students present their work throughout the year, including at the Regeneron Westchester Science & Engineering Fair (WESEF) in the spring.
