Fall Sports Wrap-Up

Fall sports are wrapping up, and while some of our student-athletes are still competing, we wanted to take this opportunity to share some of our varsity athletic successes from this season.

Across the board, Dobbs Ferry fall sports teams have enjoyed successful seasons and significant engagement, with over 260 student-athletes participating on all of our varsity sports teams. This reflects a high level of interest in Dobbs Ferry School District athletic offerings. Dobbs Ferry students are not only leading the way academically, but are also pursuing athletic excellence.

Every one of our varsity teams had a winning regular season!

Additionally, a number of our teams had success in sectional and state-level play with some impressive "firsts" for the district:

  • An Ardsley-Dobbs Ferry relay team has qualified for states for the first time.
  • Boys Soccer made it to the semi-finals for the first time on record.
  • Girls Soccer made it to the semi-finals for the first time on record.
  • Varsity football finished the season at the Section 1 Class B championship.
  • Girls Cross-Country finished in fourth place at the Sectional Championship.

"We enjoyed an outstanding fall athletic season, with over 260 students representing our school on interscholastic teams,” said Director of Physical Education, Health and Athletics Andrew Klaich. “Every one of our varsity programs achieved a winning record and demonstrated exceptional performances in postseason competition. We are extremely proud of our student-athletes and coaches for their dedication, sportsmanship and commitment to excellence."

Congratulations to all of our student-athletes on a dominant season and good luck our swimmers who are going to states later this month!

Veterans Visit Springhurst Elementary School

On the day after Veterans Day, Springhurst students enjoyed a special visit from several former members of the armed forces. The veterans came from several branches, specialties and backgrounds, and they each brought a wealth of life experiences and stories to share with students. Students asked the veterans questions about their lives in the service, respectfully listened to their answers and sang for them.

Thank you to our veterans for your service and for stopping by to share your stories with students!
