Dobbs Ferry High School Students Perform

Musical Alice by Heart

That’s a wrap! The Dobbs Ferry High School spring musical, Alice by Heart, has come to a close and left audiences with a performance to remember. Congratulations to all of our cast and crew who made the whole thing possible, from the Rat Pack running the lights and sound to our high school performers nailing every note and line.

Middle School Club Donates to Children's Hospital

The No Place for Hate 7 Club at Dobbs Ferry Middle School made a $500 donation to the Children's Hospital of New York. Students raised the funds through a bake sale earlier this year.

The 11 club members were chaperoned on their trip to the Children's Hospital by club advisor Sandra Hacker, math teacher Jen Duran and Dobbs Ferry PTSA President and parent, Alice Dabiri. Thank you to everyone who contributed!

Silver Eagles Club Seniors

Visit Dobbs Ferry High School for Luncheon and Preview

The Dobbs Ferry community has provided so much support for our schools and programs in the past, and the activities branch of the Dobbs Ferry High School student government was excited to give back. The seniors of the Silver Eagles Club visited DFHS last week for the Senior Luncheon.

Dobbs Ferry High School students, dressed in white button-ups and dark slacks, served seniors a multi-course lunch that culminated with a dessert of pie topped with whipped cream. At the conclusion of their meal, students escorted the seniors to the DFHS auditorium, where the cast and crew of the high school’s spring musical had prepared a special preview of the show.

Dobbs Ferry High School was proud to host the Silver Eagles Club in collaboration with the Dobbs Ferry PTSA and looks forward to the next collaboration!

Staff Highlight: Juliana Caputo

Every year, the Dobbs Ferry Schools team welcomes new educators, administrators and staff members. Juliana Caputo is coming up on the first anniversary of joining the Dobbs Ferry Schools counseling team and she has quickly proven to be an exceptional resource for students.

“The students that I’ve had the chance to work with here stand out among all of the students I’ve worked with in other programs,” Caputo said. “They share great, insightful ideas, especially in the Youth to Youth Club. They follow through on their ideas too, by marketing, planning and running events.”

Caputo attributes much of her middle school and high school students’ engagement, communication skills and passion to an emotional maturity beyond their years. The student experience at Dobbs Ferry Schools is comprised of more than any single teacher or class and Caputo believes that other programs such as the International Baccalaureate program serve to develop the confidence and independence that she sees in her students.

“I took this job to make the biggest possible positive impact on students’ mental health through counseling and prevention,” Caputo said. “The skills they are gaining today will serve them in the future by helping them make healthy decisions. We aren’t just here for each child today, we’re here to give them skills and coping mechanisms that they can use every day for the rest of their lives.”
