Springhurst Performers Bring the House Down at First Ever Musical

An actor’s an actor, no matter how small!

The Dobbs Ferry community packed the house for Springhurst Elementary’s first ever musical, Seussical Jr. From colorful sets to well-executed choreography and some of the catchiest tunes in Whoville, the show proved to be a fun and memorable spectacle.

Growing Sports at Dobbs Ferry Schools

Dobbs Ferry has seen some incredibly talented student-athletes stride onto its fields in recent years. Our students are setting records and taking aim at championships, and that energetic, competitive disposition is proving to be infectious.

“As of today, we have 368 students registered for a spring sport in grades 7-12,” said Athletic Director Andrew Klaich. “It is great to see so many students active and involved in the athletics program. There is such great energy to the school campus with practices getting underway!”

With hundreds of student-athletes participating in varsity, junior varsity, and modified spring sports, athletics at Dobbs Ferry has never been more active. As always, our student-athletes remain students first and foremost, as evidenced by the fact that every single one of our fall and winter sports teams were NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete teams, with at least 75% of each team maintaining GPAs of 90% or higher.

With the growing interest in athletic offerings at Dobbs Ferry Schools, the district aims to offer students a wide variety of sports to choose from. New this year is the Dobbs Ferry High School Girls Flag Football team, which started practicing earlier this week with 30 student-athletes registered. The future is bright for both the new flag football team and for Dobbs Ferry athletics!

Parents Tour Springhurst Elementary at

Kindergarten Orientation

The next class of kindergarten students and their parents are already looking forward to the first day of school in September after the Kindergarten Orientation. The event saw parents from across the community come together at Springhurst Elementary to speak with teachers and administrators and explore the halls and classrooms where their children will soon begin their educational journey.

“It was truly wonderful to welcome both new and current families to our Kindergarten Orientation,” said Assistant Principal Rudelina Murray. “The mix of familiar faces and newcomers created a warm, welcoming atmosphere, fostering a sense of community right from the start. It was great to see everyone come together, excited to embark on this important milestone. We are thrilled to continue building strong relationships with both returning and first-time families.”

The Springhurst Elementary staff and faculty are grateful for the support of its families in fostering a school environment and community where children can grow and learn safely and effectively.
