In 2022, LMM Community Engagement Coordinator Gloria Craig was awarded the We Raise Foundation's Emerging Leader Grant. With the support of the We Raise Foundation, Gloria is committed to telling the stories of individuals who have experienced or are currently experiencing homelessness. Today was a momentous day in the advancement of this project - Gloria spent the day interviewing individuals who reside at or work at the Men’s Shelter at 2100 Lakeside and at Haven Home to learn about their experiences. From here, the interviews will be edited into a short documentary that will premiere in 2024. 

On November 7, 2023, there are several very important issues and candidates on the ballot in Ohio. Make sure to register to vote or update your voter registration information by October 10. This November, Cleveland residents will be asked to vote on an amendment that would enshrine participatory budgeting into the city charter. Issue 138, if passed, would give residents of Cleveland the authority to determine how up to 2% of the city budget is spent.

On Tuesday night, participatory budgeting supporters and the opposition debated the merits and flaws of this type of civic engagement at Cleveland’s Public Auditorium.
