Action for funding:
In May of 2019, the Board set aside funding of $70,000 to be focused towards youth homelessness. The Community Impact Committee presented a recommendation to fund three programs (TeamChild, Excelsior Wellness Center, and Volunteers of America). Today, the Board approved this funding recommendation.
We have hired the position of Anchor Community Initiative Coordinator. Cecily Ferguson will begin Monday, October 7th. Cecily will be a Spokane County United Way employee working day-to-day at the City of Spokane office in the Community Housing and Human Services department. Her work will be centered around community engagement and team facilitation to address issues related to youth homelessness.
