Callers are quickly connected to a physician or dentist with extensive experience in helping health professionals having problems with stress, substance abuse or mental health issues. Callers receive the support and referrals needed to better manage whatever issues with which they may be struggling.

Masks reduce the spread of COVID-19 to others when used by people in all public settings, and physicians play an important role in reinforcing the need for widespread masking. Additionally, the use of personal protective equipment is the first line of defense for healthcare workers, and many have questions on what are best practices to keep clinical settings safe. Appropriate testing is key to containment, but with the statewide shortage, physicians need to communicate suitable testing strategies to patients and communities.

HHS again extends provider relief fund deadlines; Physicians have until Sept. 13 to apply

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is again extending the deadline for physicians to apply for the Provider Relief Fund for both Medicare and Medicaid providers. Physicians now have until September 13, 2020, to apply.

This deadline applies to the targeted distribution for Medicaid providers as well as Medicare providers who missed the previous deadline to apply for additional funding from the second $20 billion tranche of the $50 billion general distribution.
