How many times have you needed to hang a picture, or tighten a screw, a job too small to call someone in to do? Or you don’t have the right tools? Or can’t find the right size nail? Every woman needs her own toolbox outfitted for these little jobs you think you can’t do. Guess what? You can! Corey, the Hardware Department expert, kindly agreed to give me advice on how to outfit a lady’s toolbox for small DIY projects. I told Corey everything had to be lightweight, user friendly and fit into a metal toolbox I intended to spray paint pink with a can of Rustoleum from the paint department. He patiently walked me through each aisle, making suggestions.
Here’s the list...

6 Warning Signs That You Need Appliance Repair...
When it’s time for appliance repair, you’d rather be proactive and call for professional service sooner rather than later. But how exactly do you know when it’s time for appliance repair?
1. The Appliance is Making Noise
Home appliances create some noise even when they are functioning correctly. If you start to hear unusual noises such as loud buzzing, humming, clanking, or clunking, there’s a good chance that the home appliance’s internal pieces require repair.
2. The Appliance is Leaking Water
Standing water around your appliances can result from a broken part, internal leak, or a damaged seal. Additionally, this water can often cause mold to grow in your appliance if not dealt with properly.
3. The Appliance is Malfunctioning
When a home appliance is acting strangely, you often notice because it interrupts your daily routine. For example, if your clothes take longer to dry than usual, there is likely a problem with the dryer. Another common problem is a refrigerator not keeping its cool. Pay attention to these malfunctions, and call before the appliances break down!
4. You Receive an Unusually High Utility Bill
If your appliance is struggling and in need of repair, it can use more energy, water, or gas to perform. Putting off appliance repair can heighten your utility bills and even place you in danger if your electrical system is overloaded or gas is leaking into your home.
5. Your Home is Experiencing Power Problems
If you experience flickering lights or power surges when using certain appliances, it’s possibly time for repair. Additionally, some electrical problems can cause your home appliance to spark when plugging it in.
6. The Appliance Won’t Turn On
Finally, if your home appliance refuses to turn on, it’s unusable and requires repair. Before calling for professional help, do some simple troubleshooting. Make sure that your home appliance is plugged in, the breaker hasn’t flipped, and that any filters or vents are not clogged.

Does Anyone Like Sanding?
Maybe not, but with the right equipment, sanding can be quite satisfying. Before dust collection was the norm, any place where sanding was done was likely a dirty, dusty mess requiring a good mask and a lot of time to clean up. Now it’s no longer an unpleasant chore, leaving clean air, clean lungs, and a clean work area. And remarkably smooth results.
My first use of a Festool sander here at Marine Home Center prompted me to say “Now I know how they make glass. I just don’t have the transparent part down yet.”
