The Gazette Gives Back Applications Open September 4
The Gazette Gives Back will return for the 2019 season. This annual program empowers Gazette readers to make meaningful impact to our area nonprofit community for free. At voting close, 40 nonprofit organizations will receive news of their free advertising allocation for use throughout 2019. A projected $500,000 in free advertising will be awarded to selected nonprofits. Applications to be considered for the 2019 program are available here. LAP-AID to Host Disaster & Poverty Problem-Solving Exercise
Linn Area Partners Active in Disaster (LAP-AID) will host a Disaster & Poverty Problem-Solving Exercise on Friday, September 14, 2018, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Rex Eno Conference Center at United Way of East Central Iowa. This interactive workshop helps organizations and individuals understand how to effectively and empathically serve low-income families. Find more information

Lindale Mall Invites Participants in Trunk or Treat October 27
As part of the Boo 'N Brew event at Lindale Mall on October 27, nonprofits are invited to participate in the Trunk or Treat activity in the south parking lot from 12-3 p.m. Cost is $25, and participants are asked to hand out candy, but also can distribute any promotional materials.
