New Safe Sport training requirements for USEF adult competing members
On August 27, 2018, the US Equestrian Board of Directors approved a rule change requiring that effective January 1, 2019, all US Equestrian (USEF) adult members with a Competing Membership must complete USEF’s Safe Sport Training in order to be eligible to participate in USEF activities. 
Time is running out! A National Championship title starts with YOUR entry
You've earned points all year, and now all you have to do is make them count toward qualifying... Enter by September 14 to be eligible for qualifying for the AON/USHJA National Championships at The Las Vegas National, CSI4*-W, November 13-18!
Top 5 reasons to enter the AON/USHJA National Championships:
  1. Qualify based on points earned in your home zone or through your USHJA Affiliate!
  2. Compete in a multi-class championship with each section consisting of at least three classes, making the trip worth the travel

Young Hunter Ponies ready for inaugural Championship Sept. 30
The USHJA Young Hunter Pony Championships, will be held at the World Equestrian Center in Wilmington, Ohio, on September 30, 2018.
The competition, for ponies 7 years old and younger, will offer $18,500 across sections organized by pony age, and while riders must be juniors, sections are not further restricted by the age of junior competitors.

World Championship Hunter Riders ready to shine at The Capital Challenge Horse Show
World Championship Hunter Riders are preparing to descend on the Prince George's Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro, Md., Oct. 1-7 for the USHJA WCHR Finals at The Capital Challenge Horse Show.

This year's WCHR Pro Finals will feature $10,000 in prize money, a new "Playoff" format, a possible wild card spot and the top four competitors from the first two rounds facing off each riding the same horses in a Final Four competition. 

Additionally, prize money for the WCHR Pro Challenge will double to $50,000, as announced by The Capital Challenge Horse Show, in recognition of the competition's 25th anniversary.

Get a look inside the USHJA Foundation Gochman Grant Experience
Seven days at the USEF Pony Finals presented by Collecting Gaits Farm were nothing short of amazing for Olivia Elmore, Ryder Richardson and Sydney Spevak thanks to the USHJA Foundation Gochman Grant.

The three young equestrians were awarded the grant in June of this year by the USHJA Foundation Board of Directors out of a competitive field of applicants from across the country. The grant offers each recipient the opportunity to compete at USEF Pony Finals, as well as numerous other activities throughout the week in Lexington, Kentucky.

Do you enjoy writing about horses and the equestrian experience? USHJA sponsor The Plaid Horse magazine is seeking entries to the Equestrian Voices Creative Writing Contest, sponsored by  The Plaid Horse, which promotes fine, literary prose involving horses and the equestrian experience. This contest is open to writers of all ages, regardless of any previous publications, and awards a total of $2,500 in prizes for works of fiction, creative nonfiction and student/youth. 2018 Platinum Performance/USHJA Hunter Week recap
The 2018 Platinum Performance /USHJA Hunter Week, Aug. 14-18, featured the country's top Green Hunters in the Platinum Performance/USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Championships and wrapped up Saturday, Aug. 18 with the Handy Round of the 10th annual Platinum Performance/USHJA International Hunter Derby Championship. Athletes Announced for 10th Annual EAP National Training Session
This summer, more than 180 athletes embarked on the journey to become better horse people through the   Lindsay Maxwell Charitable Fund /USHJA Emerging Athletes Program. Now in its 10th year, the EAP season will culminate at the National Training Session, led by Olympic Gold Medalist Joe Fargis and renowned stable management expert Anne Thornbury.

Sixteen athletes and eight stable managers have been selected to participate in the EAP National Training Session led by Olympic Gold Medalist Joe Fargis, November 8-11, at The University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio.
USHJA Pony Hunter Derby Championship
Based on the popularity of the USHJA Pony Hunter Derby Program, sponsored by Markel, the U.S. Hunter Jumper Association is excited to announce that 2019 will bring the inaugural USHJA Pony Hunter Derby Championships to either coast. Kentucky Summer Classic July 30-August 4, 2019, will host the 2019 East Coast Championship in Lexington, Kentucky, while Blenheim Fall Tournament September 11-15, 2019, will host the 2019 West Coast Championship in San Juan Capistrano, California.

Since the USHJA Pony Hunter Derby Program began in 2017, 825 ponies have earned points in the program, and competitions have hosted more than 70 pony derbies nationwide. The USHJA Pony Hunter Derby Championships will give pony competitors a new goal to set in addition to the longstanding USEF Pony Finals and new AON/USHJA National Championships at The Las Vegas National, CSI4*-W, which are offered for the first time this year.
