To Our Wonderful Sisterhood,
As we reflect on the past month, we find ourselves filled with gratitude and fond memories. We enjoyed an evening at Michele Gabai’s home for Rosh Hodesh. Surrounded by the beauty of her landscaped backyard, we shared laughter and enjoyed a delicious meal. Afterwards, we engaged in lively discussions about Jewish comedians. Thank you to Edie Nitzberg and Michele for orchestrating this wonderful evening.
Additionally, our Sisterhood hosted an exciting Mahjongg Tournament at Sinai Temple. Players from all corners of Los Angeles came together, embracing the competitive spirit of the game. The raffle and the delicious lunch, thoughtfully catered by Sisterhood, added to the festivities.
As our term as Co-Presidents draws to a close, we cherished the privilege of representing Sisterhood over the past two years. Valued friendships and countless experiences have enriched our journey. Giving back to our Sinai Temple community has been a true pleasure. We extend a warm welcome to our new Co-Presidents, Deborah Eisen and Marilyn Stern, both esteemed members and leaders within our Sisterhood. May their tenure be filled with success and fulfillment.
With gratitude and warm wishes,
Cici Hallegua and Shan Farahi

Please continue to support the future of the Jewish people by donating to the Torah Fund Campaign of the Women's League for Conservative Judaism, which is the cornerstone of Sinai Temple Sisterhood's philanthropy. The Torah Fund supports scholarships and programming at Conservative/Masorti Institutes of higher Jewish learning throughout the world, including the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies of the American Jewish University right here in L.A.
The theme of this year's campaign is "Kol Yisrael Arevim Zeh Ba'Zeh" (or "All Israel is Responsible for One Another"), which, in light of our new reality and these uncertain times, is particularly appropriate. We can fulfill our responsibilities to each other by ensuring we have future clergy, teachers, camp directors, and other Jewish leaders to unite us, to guide us, to teach us, and to help us fight the ever-growing hate we face. Please click HERE to learn more and to donate, or e-mail or call Sharon Gold (srgold13@yahoo.com, 805-551-3567) or Deborah Harris (deborah@garai.com, 310-614-1080). Am Yisrael Chai.

Dor will also speak during Shabbat Services beforehand
Dor Shachar, born Ayman Abu Sobuh in 1977, was the third son of a Muslim family in Khan Yunis, Gaza. At the age of four, witnessing a Jewish soldier putting on tefillin, he knew deep inside that he was a Jewish soul born in the wrong place. At 13, unable to suppress his true identity any longer, he fled to Israel, declaring himself as the first of a new Jewish lineage.
