From Your Pastor...

Holy Week invites us to walk the final steps of Jesus’ earthly journey, a journey of love, sacrifice, and ultimately, resurrection. It is a sacred time to draw near to God as we remember the depth of Christ’s love and the promise of new life.

We invite you to join us in the banquet hall for a shared meal this Thursday at 5:00 p.m. followed by Maundy Thursday worship at 6:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. Together, we will remember Jesus gathering with His disciples and calling us to love one another.

Then, come celebrate the joy of Easter on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in worship. Our Chancel Choir and orchestra will present portions of Handel’s Messiah, helping us proclaim with power and beauty the good news that Christ is risen.

Whether you have observed Holy Week for years or are experiencing it for the first time, there is a place for you here. Come and be part of the story that leads us to the cross and then to the empty tomb.

It is a privilege to serve God as one of your clergy.

Heart to Heart Talks

We remember the important heart-to-heart talks in our lives, whether a dashboard confessional between parent and child, a wee-hours dialogue with a friend, or a life-changing FaceTime with someone we love. This series explores conversations with Jesus in the gospels. As people come seeking answers to their deepest questions, or making claims about their faith, or wondering who he is, Jesus engages, challenges, and exhorts. What would we ask Jesus if we could meet him? And how might he answer us?

April 5: John 20:1-18 ("Spread the Word")

Easter worship, April 5th at 10:30 a.m.

Please join us on Easter Sunday as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ with song and worship. Enjoy as the Chancel Choir and orchestra perform selections from Handel’s Messiah.

Holy Communion Moved to April 12th

Because Easter and our Easter Cantata fall on Sunday, April 5th, this year, we will move our monthly celebration of Holy Communion to Sunday, April 12th.

Communion Offering: MTSU Wesley

April’s communion rail offering supports The Wesley Foundation of MTSU. Each spring, Wesley students go on a Mission Trip, engaging in community development projects and sharing the Good News of God's love. Your generous donation helps make this annual trip possible.

Easter Series: Building Blocks

On April 12, we begin a new sermon series, "Building Blocks." Over the course of the next eight weeks and culminating on Pentecost Sunday, we will explore stories of the early church and what they teach us about the fundamentals of faith.

Here are the upcoming Scriptures and tentative sermon titles:

April 12: John 20:19-31 ("Becoming a Believer")

April 19: Luke 24:13-35 ("Recognizing Jesus")

April 26: Acts 2:42-47 ("Living in Community")

May 3: John 14:1-14 ("Asking Questions")

May 10: Acts 17:22-31 ("Sharing our Faith")

May 17: Acts 1:6-14 ("Seeking Guidance Together")

May 24: Acts 2:1-21 ("Being Moved")

A new sermon series is always a great time to invite others to join you for worship, especially if they do not have a church home of their own.
