From Your Pastor...

Every year, Lent begins with intention. We enter the season ready to reflect, repent, and realign our lives with God. And yet, staying focused on that journey is harder than we expect. Life does not slow down for Lent. Emails still pile up. Schedules remain full. The quiet we hoped to cultivate is often drowned out by the noise of daily responsibilities.

Even when we carve out time for prayer or devotion, our minds wander. We think about errands, conversations, unfinished tasks. We may begin with meaningful commitments (giving something up, taking something on) only to find our resolve fading a week or two into the season. It can feel discouraging, even disheartening.

But perhaps the struggle itself is part of the journey. Lent is not about perfect focus; it is about returning again and again to God. Each moment we notice our distraction and gently turn back is an act of grace. The path may be uneven but God meets us, not in our perfection but in our persistence.

It is a privilege to serve God as one of your clergy.

Heart to Heart Talks

We remember the important heart-to-heart talks in our lives, whether a dashboard confessional between parent and child, a wee-hours dialogue with a friend, or a life-changing FaceTime with someone we love. This series explores conversations with Jesus in the gospels. As people come seeking answers to their deepest questions, or making claims about their faith, or wondering who he is, Jesus engages, challenges, and exhorts. What would we ask Jesus if we could meet him? And how might he answer us?

Embracing the Uncertain

A Bible Study for Unsteady Times

Led by Rev. Tommy Ward

Just turning on the news lets us know we are living in uncertain times.  In Embracing the Uncertain, Magrey deVega invites readers to engage and wrestle with life’s uncertainties, not ignore them. Each lesson will consider a story of Jesus’ life and ministry that points us forward to the cross and shows us how to follow Jesus with courage, hope, and obedience.

Building Holy Habits into a Rule of Life

Led by Rev. Martha Touchton and Friends

We are the product of our habits! Spiritual habits enable us to walk closer God and lead us to grow deeper in our relationship with God and others. Holy Habits help us orient our lives toward being disciples of Jesus Christ every day. We’ll consider how we can expand and enhance these habits as adults and help them be built into the lives of our youth, children, and families.

Spring Blood Drive Registration

Registration is now open for the St. Mark’s Spring Blood Drive, taking place on Wednesday, May 6, from noon until 5:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary Foyer area. The need for blood is constant. Every single day hospitals rely on donors to help patients facing surgery, cancer treatments, serious accidents, and other medical emergencies where blood is urgently needed. All donors who give at this drive will be eligible to receive a $20 Amazon e-gift card, and registering today helps ensure you can choose the time that works best for you.
