Community Lecture Series:

Christian Nationalism

January 22 @ 5:30 p.m. - Community Library, Ketchum

January 23 @ 5:30 p.m. - Senior Connection, Hailey

Over two evenings in January, award-winning reporter Heath Druzin

will visit the Wood River Valley to discuss the growing influence of Christian nationalism, how political extremism is shaping our democracy, the effects on civil discourse, and strategies for engaging in productive dialogue in polarized times.

His visit has been organized by Idaho Solutions, a Twin Falls-based nonprofit focusing on policy and community engagement, as part of their “The More You Know” series. The events are in partnership with Boise State Public Radio and The Community Library in Ketchum, and with local faith groups the Mormon Women for Ethical Government - Idaho Chapter, St. Thomas Episcopal Church, the Wood River Jewish Community, and Wood River Valley members of The

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Rector's Discussion Group Begins February 4

Inspired: Slaying Giants, Walking on Water, and Loving the Bible Again

By, Rachel Held Evans

About the Book (Amazon):

Undaunted by the Bible's most difficult passages and unafraid to ask the hard questions, Evans wrestles through the process of doubting, imagining, and debating the mysteries surrounding Scripture. Discover alongside Evans that the Bible is not a static text, but a living, breathing, captivating, and confounding book that can equip us and inspire us to join God's loving and redemptive work in the world.

This Winter please join the Rector’s Discussion Group for a study of this book.  Gatherings occur via zoom at 12pm on Wednesdays.  Please contact Stefanie Nelson in the office if you need assistance obtaining the book.  The schedule is as follows:

Breaking Bread Together

New Groups are Forming

Breaking Bread Together groups are comprised of 8-10 parishioners who gather monthly for conversation and fellowship. Some groups meet for dinner, others for brunch after church on a Sunday; it’s up to each group to make their own plans. This can be a great way to make some new friends and have deeper conversations than you might at coffee hour. If you are not currently in a BBT Group and would like to join one, please email Stefanie at stefanie@stthomassv.org.
