A Message from Joel

This Sunday, Sept 17, we will be re-introducing the "Glory to God" from Community Mass, by Richard Proulx, for use during our services this fall. The last time we did this was five or six years ago. The choir will lead a brief rehearsal prior to the service. Come 10 minutes early to practice with the choir! Hopefully this will help lead you into a prayerful singing of the "Glory to God" during the service.

Adult Education - Sermon Talk-Back

Join Jonah in Classroom 1 after the 9:30 a.m. service for a sermon talk-back, focusing on forgiveness, which is the theme of this week's sermon.

Looking For God In Messy Places: A Book About Hope

By Jake Owensby, Bishop of the Diocese of Western Louisiana

In his book, Bishop Owensby offers a message of hope.  How to find it.  How to practice it.  How to grow it.  Owensby believes that hope comes from our personal awareness that God is with us no matter what – even and especially in life’s messy places.

This fall please join the Rector’s Discussion Group for a study of Bishop Owensby’s book.  Gatherings occur via zoom at 12pm on Wednesdays.  Please contact Judi Fuller in the office if you need assistance obtaining the book.  The schedule is as follows:

September 27th, Session 1

Read Part I: How Love Gives Us Hope

October 4th, Session 2

Read Part II: The God Who Shows Up

October 11th, Session 3

Read Part III: Remember That You Are Called

October 18th, Session 4

Read Part IV: Making a Difference.  Together.

October 25th, Session 5

Read Part V: Faith, Hope, and Friendship with God

Let’s Break Bread Together!

Last fall we launched a new ministry called Breaking Bread Together – an opportunity for small groups of parishioners to meet monthly to “break bread” together, make new friends and share in Christian fellowship. Some groups met for dinner at each other’s homes, others went out to brunch – it’s up to each group to decide when and where to gather. Even if you participated last year, please sign up for the coming year.

After a summer break, we are ready to begin again! The groups will be re-constituted so we can keep creating new friendships and connections.

If you would like to be part of this fun ministry of community, please sign up here or call Judi at the church office, 208-726-5349. The new groups will be announced on October 1.
