Jonah Appointed to Diocesan Council

We are thrilled to announce that The Rev M. Jonah Kendall has been appointed to Diocesan Council by Bishop Jos.

Jonah's appointment on the council provides greater representation for St. Thomas on the Diocesan level.

Diocesan Council: In simplest terms, Diocesan Council serves as the Vestry of the Diocese of Idaho.

Faith in Today’s World

Don Liebich

Have you ever had something happen in the world or in your life that has made you ask, “ Where is God in this situation?”. At some point in our faith journey, most of us have probably been there. There is probably no completely satisfying answer. Our goal in this session is to provide a space to help reconcile this dilemma. Please join us as we process this together.

Evensong - Sunday, September 18 @ 5:30 pm

Evensong is a beautiful service of readings and prayers, and the majority of it is sung. Come wind down after a day in the Wood River Valley at evensong at St. Thomas. 5:30 Sunday, Sept 18. We will be observing Hildegard of Bingen.

Rector’s Discussion Group Returns September 21

Known as the Apostle to the Apostles, Mary Magdalene is celebrated as the pivotal witness to Christ’s resurrection. Yet, if you look in the Bible, you’ll find only a handful of verses that speak of her. How did she become such a compelling saint in the face of such paltry evidence? Join Jonah this fall in a weekly discussion of the Rev. Cynthia Bourgeault's book, The Meaning of Mary Magdalene: Discovering the Woman at the Heart of Christianity

Discussions will take place via zoom on Wednesday’s at 12pm. The first gathering is on Wednesday, September 21st. If you would like to participate or need assistance purchasing the book, please email Judi Fuller at [email protected].

About the Author:

Cynthia Bourgeault has studied and taught in a number of Benedictine monasteries in the United States and Canada.
