YOUR MONTHLY STARTUP TIP
Legally protect your idea or invention by securing your intellectual property (IP) rights!

Like most startups, you m ay be developing a new idea, invention, or design. If that’s the case, then it is important to protect your IP ri ghts to avoid infringements from other parties, and Lebanese law provides such protection.

There are three types of IP in Lebanon:
  • ™ Trademark: to protect your startup’s brand name and the logo used on goods and services (Trademarks related fees).
  • © Copyright: to protect the activity of your business if it relates to artistic or literary work, computer software, video films and audiovisual works (Copyright related fees).
  • ℗ Patent: to protect a new concept or invention (Patents related fees).

Registering an IP can give you a huge commercial advantage and is considered a lucrative asset if there are plans to sell your business, merge with another company, secure funding, or embark on a joint venture.
