Sun Rivers is sorry to advise that we have lost one of Sun Rivers early pioneers, Harry Davis. Harry passed away August 6th after a courageous battle with cancer.
Harry and Linda were among the first residents of Sun Rivers and the first members of the golf course. Their enthusiasm with the golf resort lifestyle found them actively initiating and participating in community, neighbourhood and golf events and other activities for the betterment of the community.
Not only were they among the first homeowners and golf course members but Harry was the first Neighbourhood President in Sun Rivers. He enthusiastically took on the responsibility and served for many years in Sagewood and Golf Ridge. As more neighbourhoods came on stream Harry generously donated his time to support other Presidents and Directors taking on their new roles.
Harry’s volunteer efforts were many and wide spread including community events as an organizer, driver, grill master or whatever job he was called on to perform. Linda and Harry organized the ‘infamous’ McSagewood golf tournament – a sell out every year during its’ 15 year run. They were tireless in their efforts to provide an extraordinary experience for their neighbours and friends, preparing the meal, organizing the golf format, prizing and after golf party!
Harry was also recognized as Sun Rivers volunteer of the year many years in a row. Needless to say Harry was a tireless community supporter and volunteer whose presence and efforts contributed to making Sun Rivers a better community for all.
Harry and Linda have made many friends among Sun Rivers residents and staff. Harry will be sorely missed for his friendship, kindness and generosity.
A memorial bench will be erected to honour Harry’s memory. If you wish to contribute to the Bench in Harry’s name please contact Leslie Brochu,
