The City of Brampton Economic Development Office has launched a centralized Tariff Resource Hub to help local businesses navigate recent U.S. tariff changes and tap into funding opportunities, programs and expert sector support. 

As part of the City’s Brampton Tariff Action Plan 2025, the Tariff Resource Hub outlines a strategic response to trade impacts and offers businesses the tools to ease cost pressures, build supply chain resilience and boost global trade readiness.

Investment Incentives Update: Brampton Strengthens Support for Office and Industrial Growth 

To further attract high-quality investment, the City of Brampton has enhanced its financial incentives for eligible development projects. Whether you're expanding locally or entering the Canadian market, Brampton offers a compelling value proposition: 

• $0 City Development Charges on qualifying new office developments 
• $0 Development Charges for industrial expansions with a gross floor area increase of 50 % or less 
• 10-Year Property Tax Grant for eligible new office projects, applied over the first 10 years of operation 

These incentives are designed to reduce upfront costs, improve project feasibility and support long-term success for investors and developers.

Brampton Accelerates Startup Momentum at Founders & Funders 2025 

The City of Brampton hosted Founders & Funders 2025, a high-impact, one-day event designed to connect visionary founders with active funders and drive the next wave of Canadian innovation. Held in partnership with Brampton Angels and Altitude Accelerator, the event showcased the strength of Brampton’s growing Innovation District. 

With packed pitches, strategic networking and strong investor-startup alignment, Founders & Funders 2025 reinforced Brampton’s emergence as a national hub for tech, entrepreneurship and investment.

Brampton Climate Program Announcement: Investing in a Greener Future 

Brampton’s Economic Development Office, in partnership with Toronto and Region Conservation Authority’s Partners in Project Green, has launched the Business Climate Action Program – a streamlined, no-cost initiative designed to help up to 10 local businesses per year: 

• Free on-site assessments to identify energy-efficiency upgrades and GHG reduction opportunities 
• Custom sustainability action plans with guidance on accessing funding and contractor resources 
• Capacity-building workshops aimed at building resilience and reducing operational costs 

The Brampton Business Climate Action Program will provide opportunities for local organizations to advance their sustainability goals, leading Brampton to a lower carbon future.

Go Global Business Initiative 



The Global Business Centre will power Brampton’s Go Global initiative, which is designed to help Brampton-based small and medium-sized businesses scale, export and expand into new markets.

Modernize Your Auto Manufacturing Business with O-AMP 

• Funding: Up to 50% of project costs covered, max $150,000 grant.
• Eligibility: Ontario-based, for-profit automotive parts manufacturers.
• Focus: Projects that modernize operations, adopt new technologies, and improve productivity
• How to Apply: Submit a full application through the program portal.

The Ontario Automotive Modernization Program (O-AMP) is now accepting applications. This cost-sharing initiative helps small- and medium-sized automotive parts manufacturers adopt new technologies, boost productivity, and strengthen competitiveness. 

Boost Your Business with Starter Company Plus 

• Funding: Up to $5,000 grant to launch or expand a business.
• Eligibility: Ontario residents aged 18+, Canadian citizens or permanent residents operating a full-time business (35+ hrs/week) in Brampton or Caledon. Not enrolled in full-time studies or receiving other provincial business grants.
• Focus: Support for starting, buying, or expanding a full-time small business.
• How to Apply: Attend a mandatory info session before submitting an application.

Brampton Showcases Leadership in Building Ontario’s Manufacturing Workforce 

The City of Brampton partnered with the Brampton Board of Trade and Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME) to present key findings from CME’s new report, Keep Calm and Keep Training: Manufacturing Insights for a Resilient Ontario Workforce. 

Held at Alderlea with over 100 attendees and expert panelists from across the region, the event emphasized the urgent need to invest in mentorship, skills training, leadership development and inclusive workforce strategies. With Ontario aiming to reach 1 million manufacturing workers by 2035, Brampton is committed to supporting the programs and partnerships that will help get us there. 

Brampton Proudly Welcomes Second Cup’s Continued Growth and Expansion

Brampton’s restaurant sector continues to grow with the recent opening of Second Cup’s third franchise location in the city, at 8275 Financial Drive. Officially opened on June 17, the new café, led by franchisees Sumit Malhotra, Taranveer Singh, and Harkirat Singh, brings 11 new jobs and highlights Brampton’s appeal as a destination where entrepreneurs choose to reinvest.

Brampton Strengthens Cybersecurity Ecosystem with Major Partnership Renewal 

The City of Brampton has renewed its five-year, $5 million partnership with Toronto Metropolitan University’s Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst, reinforcing Brampton’s role as a national leader in cybersecurity innovation and training. 

Located in the Brampton Innovation District, the Catalyst will continue to deliver advanced training, support local businesses and grow the cybersecurity talent pipeline. Since 2020, the initiative has supported over 60 startups, trained more than 50 organizations and created career pathways for 1,000+ women and gender-diverse individuals. 

This renewed partnership strengthens Brampton’s commitment to building a secure, inclusive, and future-ready digital economy.
