Pokémon Go players are always welcome at the library!

We think the library is the best place to "catch 'em all!" To help you in your quest to be one of the best trainers in the Four Corners, we've been dropping lures at each of our pokestops during library hours. We're also getting ready for the next Pokémon Go Fest with a special event planned for Saturday, July 13 from

11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Earn raffle tickets for your chance to win fabulous prizes by walking the Route around the library and challenging library trainers to battle! You must be present during our library event on July 13 to win.

If the weather, or battles, get too hot, then come inside to cool off with drinks and snacks. Meet fellow trainers from the area and exchange friend codes!

Pokémon Go Fest is a worldwide event that takes place July 13 - July 14 from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM local time.

(If you didn't understand any of that, come to the library before the event, and we can introduce you to the exciting world of Pokémon Go!)

Watch 'em all!

Exciting news, fellow Trainers! Discover the Pokémon BingePass now available on @hoopladigital! Embark on thrilling adventures with Ash and Pikachu in seasons 6-13 of Pokémon the Series. Hoopla is free with your library card!

Romance Readers Book Club: Paranormal Romance

Wednesday, July 10 at 6:00 PM

Forget what you know about traditional book groups: instead of reading the same book and discussing it, we're going to be reading a book that has the same theme. For Romance Readers, it will be a subgenre/trope of the much larger Romance Genre.

For this meeting, read a Paranormal Romance (or 2) and come prepared to discuss how it fits within the Romance Genre! Per NoveList: From demi-gods and demons, to angels and psychically-gifted humans, the lovers in these tantalizing paranormal romances are anything but ordinary.

Learn to Draw Digitally with Dale DeForest

Tuesday, July 16 at 6:00 PM

About Dale DeForest and Event:

Learn how to draw digitally with Dale DeForest. We are so happy to welcome Dale to our library for a special drawing event. Dale is an author and illustrator. He graduated from Navajo Preparatory School in 1995, then studied 2-D Art and Photography at the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) in Santa Fe, where he graduated in 2000. His primary practice is sequential art and digital illustration.

His style of art is high-contrast and thick lines to convey bold imagery matched with bright and vivid colors. Dale says that "Artwork can be used to not only express, but captivate and manipulate thought and action", and he prides himself as this being his goal as an Artist.

Supplies:

Dale would like to encourage anyone who is interested to bring a digital tablet, ipad, stylus or Apple pencil to draw. We will have sketchbooks and pencils on hand for those who would like to follow along and do not have digital tablets.

More About the Artist:

Dale's work can be found on his website here. His comic book series, Hero Twins follows the adventures of the titular characters as well as those supporting their training and growing. The series is available for purchase on his website, as well as through Red Planet Books & Comics.
