Fearsome Foxtails!
Foxtails can be a BIG problem for your pet! They get into eyes, ears, toes and can migrate deep into the body, causing infection and sometimes needing surgery to get them out!
Watch your pet for symptoms like head shaking, paw licking, sneezing, scratching, and redness/swelling at a possible entry site.
And, as always, a little prevention
for your pet's health and safety:
• Keep your pets away from overgrown, dry grassy areas.
• Weed out any foxtails you find in your yard.
• If your dog has a long, thick coat, consider keeping the fur trimmed during the foxtail season.
• Examine your pet after hiking or playing outside.
