Message from Sun Valley Admin

Week of 9/8-9/12

Hello Sun Valley Families!

Thank you for supporting a great start to the year!

We are looking forward to a full week of teaching and learning! As we dive deeper into the content and rigorous learning activities, students are expected to continue to meet the bar of high expectations. Keeping cell phones and earbuds away will allow for this! Remember; Ready, Respectful and Responsible!

Lastly, please be reminded our Back to School Night is Thursday September 18th starting at 6:30pm.

STAFF MEMBER OF THE WEEK

Mr. Blocksom

Mr. Vaccaro's pick for Staff Member of the Week: Mr. Blocksom

He writes, I’m proud to nominate my friend and colleague, Jim Blocksom, for Teacher of the Week. Jim serves as our Multiple Disabilities Support teacher and is truly one of the most patient, compassionate educators in the building. He has an incredible ability to meet his students exactly where they are—providing gentle support when needed, but also challenging them to reach their full potential. His balance of kindness and high expectations makes a real difference in the lives of his students. I’ve known Blocksom for many years, and one thing has always stood out: he consistently takes care of the people others may overlook or struggle to reach. His heart is always in the right place, and he leads with empathy and selflessness in everything he does. Jim Blocksom is not just a great teacher—he’s a great human being. He would be more than deserving of the honor of Teacher of the Week.
