We are one week away from our Winter Break! We hope you are excited! While we have a lot of fun planned, we are still focused on academics!
This week we have spirit days planned! Please review below and participate if you can to celebrate!

Please help and support the Class of 2026 by eating at the Concordville Texas Roadhouse on Wednesday, December 20th, between the hours of 4:00 – 10:00 p.m. Please pick up a flyer in the Main Office and present it to your server when you pay. They will give the Class of 2026 10% off your purchases on all take-out and dine-in meals.

Aston Township Fire Department is pleased to offer Sun Valley Students
an opportunity to obtain a CPR Certification during winter break.
Class will be held on December 28, 2023 at 11:00 am at the
Aston Township Fire Department on Duttons Mill Road. The cost is $25. Cash or check payable to Aston Township Fire Department.
Payments will be collected the morning of training.
Please register with a personal email address. Participants will receive their CPR certification via email following the training.

ATTENTION ALL JUNIORS!!!
Registration for the Junior Class trip to Williamsburg Virginia, May 31st - June 2nd is now live. Registration and payment will be processed through an Educational Travel Tours portal that also provides all of the trip information as well. Access the portal using this link: Sun Valley Junior Class Trip Portal - the first deposit is $100 and due January 5th.
A video has been created that explains how to access the portal, how the pricing works, and how the cost is expected to decrease once we have final numbers. Please watch the video in its entirety, and reach out with questions! Junior Class Trip Information and Registration Video.

Students interested in scheduling a visit to DCTS during the school day should fill out the request form linked in the Schoology Class of 2025, 2026 and 2027 groups. Your counselor will then notify the student and parent via email once the date of the visit is confirmed with DCTS. The visit request form will close on 12/22/23. | |
National Honor Society is excited to be hosting this year’s Winter Formal on January 19th. The dance will be held in the Sun Valley cafeteria from 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM. Tickets will go on sale after winter break. | Science tutoring will be held after school from 2:20-2:55. Please see Mrs. Wiest or Ms. Phelps with any questions. | |

Green Careers Exploration Day at Longwood - Registration Now Open - Wednesday, March 6, 2024: 9 am–12 pm
Free for registered high school students (grades 9–12) and one accompanying adult. Registration closes February 23 or when all spaces are filled. This program provides high school students the opportunity to explore the breadth of careers found within a public garden firsthand—and work towards fulfilling their career-shadowing graduation requirements—with our Green Careers Exploration Day, designed for students in grades 9–12 and free for registered students and one accompanying adult. Accompanying adults may explore the Gardens on their own and meet their students after the program concludes.
Spots are limited. Registration is required and available on a first-come, first served basis. Each student will need to complete an individual registration form with their parent/guardian.

This week's Staff Member of the week is Ms. Bondanza, Science Teacher.
Ms. Bondanza is an integral part of the Sun Valley community, and deserves to be recognized as such. As head of the Yearbook, the 9th grade academy, a multiple-time class advisor, and participant on practically every Penn-Delco committee that exists, Ms. Bondanza has dedicated countless hours to the Sun Valley community both inside and outside the classroom the past two decades.
Thanks for everything that you do, Ms. Bondanza!

CHLOE CREGO
Chloe is an important member of our peer buddy class where she is always very helpful, respectful, and understanding of everyone's differences. She is an outstanding addition to our bocce team this year and has already shown her dedication and commitment to the team. Chloe is a great example of a star student and shows that every day with her kind and caring nature.

RYAN MCCONNELL
Ryan has been a huge help working in the school store and has been an outstanding addition to the bocce team this year. Ryan is always willing to help and demonstrates great leadership qualities. He has a great sense of humor and is a joy to have in class!

MICHAEL NAUGLE
Ms. Summers has selected senior Michael Naugle because he has always been a good student. When I would see him in the hallways he is always doing what he was supposed to be doing. He has accomplished so much here at Sun Valley High School and I am so proud of him. Michael is a great role model of Sun Valley High School.

SY'EIHR SMITH-CARTER
Ms. Summers has selected senior Sy'eihr Smith-Carter because he has always been a great student. When I see him in the hallways, he was always doing what he was expected in school as well as holding down a job for two years. He has always been a good student and he is a great role model of Sun Valley High School.

ATTENTION STUDENTS:
Penn-Delco provides a late bus for students who stay after school everyday, Monday through Thursday. Students should be in the lobby before 3:45 p.m. Please check with the driver to make sure you board the appropriate bus. Please note that there is NO late bus on Fridays.
