ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS!

Make sure you keep your Scholarchip ID swipe card in a safe place where you can find it easily. If you misplace your ID, you will need to purchase a new one. The cost of a temporary ID is $1.00 and the cost of a replacement ID is $5.00.

Students earn Sun Dollars by being Ready, Respectful, and Responsible. They can redeem those Sun Dollars for SV gear at the Sun Dollar store every Wednesday.

On Friday, Dec. 20, the PBIS Committee will be hosting the Sun Valley Holiday Hootenanny for students during their lunch periods. The event will be held in the Cafeteria, Gym, MIC, and Auditorium. Students will use Sun Dollars to gain admittance to activities in each area or to purchase cocoa in the café. Keep earning those Sun Dollars by being Ready, Respectful, and Responsible.

Sun Valley will run periods 8, 5, 6, and 7 on Friday, Dec. 20th. Since some students don't have classes these periods, they do not have to report to school on December 20th. However, any students who would like to come to school to participate in the Holiday Hootenanny are more than welcome! DCTS and DCCC students should complete the Holiday Hootenanny Sign Up form if they plan to attend school on this day.

PTL Dues are $10 per family this year. If you wanted to Venmo, please see the picture for information. If you wanted to send in cash or a check made out to Sun Valley PTL with the form you received in the mail, feel free. Thank you!!

STAFF MEMBER OF THE WEEK

Mr. Burch

Ms. Newburg's pick for Staff Member of the Week: Mr. Burch

She writes, "Mr. Burch is my nominee for staff member of the week. Mr. Burch is tasked with overseeing our building and grounds, keeping them safe and presentable so that our students can enjoy a clean and healthy learning environment. Mr. Burch does his job well and with a smile on his face. That is no small feat considering some of the less pleasant tasks that fall under his responsibilities.  He has lots of jobs pulling him in different directions throughout the day, but he always has time for a friendly smile and kind words. He goes above and beyond to enable one of our students weekly opportunities to practice employability skills using the trusty Tornado vacuum cleaner. This simple act of kindness elevates Mr. Burch to super hero status. Thank you Mr. Burch!"

STUDENTS OF THE WEEK

GIOVANNI RONDOLONE

Selected by: Mrs. Bednar

G is a great student who always has a smile on his face. He gives his best everyday in class even when what we are practicing is difficult and complex. He doesn't give up and he never seems frustrated. He is also a really kind and positive person. I love having him in class this year.

ADAM PANUSKY

Selected by: Mrs. Bednar

Adam Panusky speaks Spanish really well and always writes creative answers on his assignments. His responses make me laugh and I love that he always gives more than what was asked for. I also love that Adam really engages with what we learn in class and shows a lot of interest. Thanks for making me smile!
