Hello Sun Valley Families!


This Memorial Day weekend, let us not forget their stories. Let us remember their courage, their unwavering loyalty, their willingness to face the unknown for a cause greater than themselves. Thank you.


We are officially done with AP and Keystone testing! It is now Senior Finals week! We have two weeks of regular classes for grades 9-11 before finals week! Let's encourage all our students to work hard and close out the 23-24 school year strong! Letters have been mailed home to anyone who is academically at risk for the year with more information and next steps.


Senior Finals Schedule

All Finals will take place in the SVHS cafeteria starting period 1. Seniors only need to attend their final unless other arrangements have been made for enrichment and/or tutoring.


Tuesday – May 28 – Full Credit Electives / Science / Social Studies / World Language

Wednesday – May 29 – English Language Arts

Thursday – May 30 – Mathematics 

Friday – May 31 – Make-Ups (2nd exam in Science, Math, Social Studies, etc)

The Yearbook Club has about 100 extra year books. These will be made available on a first come, first serve basis. The deadline to order will be 05/22/24. There will be no science tutoring in the MIC for the month of May, tutoring will resume in June to prepare for finals.

JENNA YAWORKSI

 

Mr. Lopez has selected Jenn Yaworksi has student of the week. Since the first day of the school year Jenna has been an extremely hard worker. No matter who she is paired with, she is always ready to help her fellow students without hesitation. Jenna is always sweet, super respectful to others, and goes above and beyond what is asked. She demonstrates the values of a leader and exactly who you want to have in the classroom. 

KEVIN SOCHOR

 

Mr. Lopez has selected Kevin Sochor as Student of the Week. Kevin always brings his contagious laughter and smile to the classroom. No matter how difficult the task, he is always ready to take it head on. Kevin works very well with other students, because he always brings the positive energy. In the end, Kevin presents a lot of happiness and joy to those around him which helps create such strong and positive class environment.

SARA DESANTO


Ms. Benson has chosen Sara Desanto as Student of the week. Sara is a phenomenal student who is always engaged, ready to work, and a delight to be around. Sara values learning and takes pride in her work in the classroom, and on the cheer squad. She understands what it takes to be successful and she gives everything her all. I cannot wait to watch you continue to grow and succeed!

ALLISON SHEPPARD


Ms. Benson has chosen Allison Sheppard for Student of the Week. Briona is an exceptional student. Allison is a tremendous student, who sets high expectations for herself and works hard to achieve her goals. Allison has a big heart, and she genuinely cares for the success and well-being of those around her. Her kind energy truly makes a positive impact, and she will be greatly missed when she graduates, but she will do amazing things!

STUDENT SENATE


Any Sun Valley student can join student senate. You can help with several of our events throughout the year. Accepting new members in September!! Contact Mrs.Grady if you can help at the 8th grade activities fair on June 12 at 12:30-2:30. 

ANIMATION CLUB


The "old school animation club" will meet on Wednesdays, after school at 2:20 p.m. in room D99 with Mr. Breiling. Come on out and join the fun!

GAMING CLUB


Attention Gamers: If you are looking for something fun to do after school, like to game, and want to meet new friends, come to Mr. DiProspero's room, C88, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 2:15 until 3:15 and test your skills.

ATTENTION STUDENTS:


Penn-Delco provides a late bus for students who stay after school everyday, Monday through Thursday. Students should be in the lobby by 3:40 p.m. Please check with the driver to make sure you board the appropriate bus. Please note that there is NO late bus on Fridays.

There is a folder (titled “Summer Learning Opportunities”) where Summer College Courses/Camps are published from the counseling office. Keep an eye on the file if you are thinking of taking some college level courses this summer! Some amazing opportunities exist.
