STAFF MEMBER OF THE WEEK

MR. MEENAN

Julie Malone’s pick for Staff Member of the Week: Mr. Meenan is my choice for staff member of the week. He has been at Sun Valley for a number of years longer than I have. When I was given a classroom, I got lucky and got a really good across the hall neighbor. He has really great stories and will loan me his stuff (markers, colored pencils, keys so I can print things, etc). He makes science seem interesting and does really neat experiments to help engage the students. The students who are in his classes always seem happy to be there. And also, Mr. Meenan is someone who may have a louder speaking voice than me, which is hard to find.

STUDENTS OF THE WEEK

LUELLA MORENO

Ms. Powers has chosen Luella as Student of the Week. Luella is always such a delight to have in class. She asks great questions and keeps trying until she understands the material. She is always ready to volunteer answers and help out classmates.

CHRISTIAN SILVA

Ms. Powers has chosen Christian Silva as student of the week. Christian always goes above and beyond my expectations. I enjoy his participation in my class and puzzle club.

THOMAS HEGARTY

Mr. Dobbins has selected Tommy Hegarty as Student of the week. I had this pleasure of teaching Tommy in both 10th and 12th grade, and to this day, he still cracks me up with some of the things he says. Beyond just being a hard-working and intellectually curious student, Tommy is also one of the most clever and authentic people I’ve ever met. He is truly one of a kind, and his uniqueness is a benefit to everyone around him.

ALEXANDER KRAMER

Mr. Dobbins has selected Alex Kramer as Student of the Week. I’ve had the pleasure of teaching Alex in both 10th and 12th grade, and I am always impressed by how hard-working, well-rounded, and grounded he is. Alex’s eventual goal is to make the world a better place, and with his considerable talents and ability, he’s well on his way to doing just that.

ABIGAIL JAMGOCHIAN

Mrs. Koehler has nominated Abby for student of the week. Abby goes out of her way to be kind to others. She’s always willing to help and doesn’t wait to be asked. Abby is the type of person who notices if you are having a bad day, asks if you are ok, and then thinks to check up on you later or the next day. She makes the Valley a better place and we will miss her when she graduates in June. Congratulations Abby!

JESSICA WILLIAMS

Mrs. Koehler has nominated Jessica Williams for student of the week.

Jessica is one of the most responsible freshmen I have ever worked with. She sets goals for herself and does what she needs to do in order to be successful. In addition to her academic success she finds time to participate in SV choir and is on the SV Swim/Dive Team. Congratulations, Jessica!
